Another Fantastic Year for Well Foundation
Updated: Aug 27
It's been a brilliant year for Well Foundation. Young people across Rochdale and Heywood have walked through our doors, got moving, grown in confidence, and started building something better for themselves. Here's a snapshot of what that looked like:
186 young people in total across Rochdale and Heywood through our doors, showing our dedication to fighting deprivation,
14 mentees supported one-to-one, with 37 total sessions being conducted,
123 instances of an outcome (Job interviews, completed CVs, training qualifications), improving the lives of our young people.

These images represent the amazing work of the charity within the past year. We are delighted by the confidence and achievements of the young people of our borough. With confidence, it is amazing the effects that belief and having a place where you belong can have on a young person, and this is undeniable proof the things that young people are capable of.
We have also supported young people in overcoming mental health issues. J* came to us this year after issues with their mental health. Before participating in our Youth Hub program, they described their experience in which they could not leave their own home due to her struggles with mental health.
Our Youth Hub was there for her.
Through socialising and having a place to feel safe both mentally and physically, she was able to overcome her concerns and push forward for a brighter future.
Another attendee of our Youth Hub, A* has also made significant progress this year. We supported A* through the Neurodiverse Weekly Youth Hub and Routes to Work programme with First Bus Rochdale.
By engaging him in hands-on workshops, workplace visits, and CV sessions, we helped him build confidence, explore new interests, and understand workplace expectations.
His exceptional attitude and full commitment have developed key professional skills, empowering him to take meaningful, positive steps toward future employment and education.
Our project manager and coach, Andy Lavery, states:
“It's been a strong year for Well Foundation. We’ve seen more young people across Rochdale and Heywood accessing the free Well Strong programme, and Well Strong has just been nominated for the Rochdale Active Awards for Best Group Activity. We've also launched Well Media, our new paid production team for early-career creatives, which has already delivered three major projects.”
Of course, this is just the beginning of our charity’s journey. As we aim to combat deprivation, it is important to reflect on all those who have created a new future for themselves with aid from Well Foundation, and we hope to support many more to find a place where they belong; a place where they can feel confident.
