Getting Well Hands-on
To further our cause of helping our youth, we want to provide media graduates with an environment to build confidence and gain valuable hands-on experience. We want to get you Well equipped for your post-study journey.
But Why?
Andy Lavery - Project Co-ordinator
Well Media came about because I saw a real gap: newly qualified media graduates were coming out of education with strong skills but with no vacancies or opportunities to actually put them into practice. I wanted to build a platform that changed that. Somewhere graduates could develop their craft after finishing their studies, rather than stalling out for lack of openings.
There must be hundreds of talented and qualified graduates in the same position, but with nowhere to actually practise their craft. That personal worry for my own son is what turned into a wider mission: making sure other graduates don't have to give up on media before they've really had a chance to start.

Our Current Graduates

Videographer
Ben Lavery
Well Media means a lot to me, because it came about through a very real conversation about how difficult it can be for newcomers to the film and TV industry to find work experience and opportunities after leaving education.
Being involved from the early stages has given me the chance to develop my skils, confidence and be a part of something that I feel genuinely invested in and excited to see grow.
Everyone on the team is great, and it's such a treat to work with them and share ideas with them and to be in an environment where everyone is uplifting each other

I’m genuinely excited to be working with such a creative team at Well Media.
It’s an amazing opportunity to help people reach their goals, and I’m really honoured to be part of this journey and the positive change we’re building.

The team of Well Media seems like a fantastic place to collaborate with other young media personalities.
I've explored a few areas of media myself before joining the team, such as play-by-play Esports Casting.
Along with what I've studied previously, I hope to use these skills to further the team, develop my own skills and find some real world experience with the group!
I look forward to what we all can make together!

Creative Writer
Mehek Naseer
Writing and storytelling have always been some of my biggest creative interests.
I enjoy taking an idea and finding the right words to bring it to life. I’m hoping to use my time with Well Media to branch out from writing, try things I haven’t had much experience with, and push myself beyond my usual comfort zone.
I’m excited to see what I can learn and where my interests might take me.

Director
Jacob Gainsborough
Well Media have offered me a great opportunity to learn from and collaborate with other young creatives. I think what we're doing is important and provides a much needed platform for artists and fresh talents to pursue creative and media careers.
My background is mainly in film, primarily as a writer/director who's picked up other skills along the way to improve my craft and make the dream possible. I graduated Manchester Film School in 2025, and have had the privilege to show short films in festivals around the world.
I look forward to putting my experience into Well Media's projects - this team has potential to achieve great outcomes

Graduation Evening
To celebrate the graduates of the Real Work programme, Redwood hosted a night in their honour. However, they needed to a photographer to document the night.
This is where Well Media stepped in.
Producing a photo compilation to capture the night, Redwood were delighted with our work and the students we were there to picture.
